Norway will be represented this year in Moscow by Alexander Rybak with the song 'Fairytale' in the 2nd semi-final and in position #6.
Alexander was born in Belarus and is aged 23 years old. His family moved to Norway when Alexander was only 4 years old and Norway has been his home ever since. From an early age, Alexander mastered the violin and can also play the piano. Alexander's mother plays the piano and his father is a professional violinist. The young star has won numerous competitions and the went on to enter 'Pop Idol' in which he reached the show's semi-final.
Before the final, there will be four semi-finals. The top two songs were chosen in each semi-final though televoting and made their way to the final. Threfore, a total number of 8 songs took part in the final with 4 songs making it through to the super-final. A combination of jury and televoting was used to determine the winner.
Norway is seen as the hot favourite this year to win the competition outright. There has been so much press and media surrounding this entry, so it is definitely the song to beat in Moscow.
No former Eurovision stars entered in the Norwegian MGP.

DIARMUID'S THOUGHTS
This is a great song which is catchy and does have a winning factor about it, so no wonder it is doing so well in all of the internet polls. It certainly seems to be the song to beat. Alexander has a bit of a charm about and this is going to get a lot of votes from Scandinavia as well as Eastern Europe and Ireland of course.
PREDICTION
Of course this is going into the final and will make the Top 3.
